HM Tax Group LLC, a premier tax consulting and accounting firm headquartered in Dallas, TX, is seeking an experienced HR Specialist to join our growing team. In this pivotal role, you will ensure compliance with federal and state labor regulations across twelve states, supporting a diverse and dynamic client base. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and ensure compliance with multi-state labor laws for a varied portfolio of clients.
  • Manage accurate and timely payroll processing—including onboarding, terminations, and compensation changes—for both client organizations and internal staff, utilizing leading HR and payroll software such as Intuit QuickBooks Desktop and Online, ADP, and Gusto.
  • Assist in the preparation and filing of federal and state payroll tax reports, and coordinate all related tax deadlines for clients.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain efficient workflow processes to support compliant payroll administration, particularly for clients with multiple pay cycles.
  • Maintain comprehensive HR records, files, policy documents, and procedure manuals.
  • Execute daily HR functions, including maintaining employment records, processing HR documentation, and administering employee data, benefits, and retirement plans for both clients and internal employees.
  • Review employee contracts and timesheets to ensure payroll accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality regarding all HR and payroll information.
  • Provide general administrative support, including preparing correspondence, reports, forms, job postings, recruitment coordination, application processing, employment verification, contract management, and compensation documentation in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in HR and payroll administration, preferably in a multi-state environment.
  • Proficiency with HR and payroll software such as Intuit QuickBooks Desktop and Online, ADP, Gusto, or similar platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws and payroll regulations.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
